What is a Good Manufacturing Practices Certificate?

Good Manufacturing Practices ensure that cosmetic and personal care products are manufactured with approved ingredients, under specified conditions of hygiene, and with proper documentation for all ingredients, processes, distribution and packaging. Many importers require a Good Manufacturing Certificate before they will import products.

A Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Certificate can be issued by companies, which are able to document adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices, as outlined by the U.S. FDA, State Health Departments, or by another set of standards.

Most countries prefer that GMP certificates be issued from a trade association, such as ACMA.
